Terms of service

Last updated October 17, 2026.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between FILL IN: the legal name of the business that runs MapleFix ("MapleFix", "we") and the business that opens a MapleFix account ("you"). By using MapleFix you agree to them. MapleFix is for businesses, not for personal use.

Your account

  • We review every request for access and may decline one without giving a reason.
  • You're responsible for the people you give sign-ins to, for what they do in your account, and for keeping passwords and PINs private.
  • Tell us right away if you think someone got into your account without permission.

Free trial

New accounts start with a free trial. Its length is shown on our pricing page when you sign up. Before it ends, choose a plan to keep going. If you don't, we may suspend the account, but you can still sign in as the owner to download your data.

Fees and payment

  • Plans are charged monthly, in Canadian dollars, at the price shown when you choose them. FILL IN: whether GST/HST is added to the price.
  • FILL IN: how and when you send invoices, and when payment is due.
  • We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next month after the notice period.
  • If a payment is late, we'll tell you, and if it stays unpaid we may suspend the account until it's paid.

Your data

  • Your shop's records belong to you. We use them only to provide MapleFix to you, as our privacy policy explains.
  • You can download all of your data at any time, from Settings → Data.
  • After you close your account we keep your data for FILL IN: for example 90 days so you can still download it, then delete it.

Using MapleFix properly

You agree not to use MapleFix to break the law, to send spam, to store information you have no right to keep, to try to get around its security or reach other shops' data, or to resell it to others without our written permission.

Taxes, payroll and your responsibilities

MapleFix works out HST, the GST/HST return, payroll deductions and other figures to help you run your shop, but it is not tax, accounting or legal advice. You're responsible for checking the figures, for filing your returns and remittances with the Canada Revenue Agency, and for meeting the rules that apply to your business. We recommend checking payroll against CRA's Payroll Deductions Online Calculator.

Availability and support

We work to keep MapleFix running and your data safe, and we back it up every night, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted. We may take it offline briefly for maintenance, at quiet times where we can. For help, write to FILL IN: support email address.

Changes to MapleFix and to these terms

MapleFix will keep improving, and features may change. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account owners at least 30 days before the change takes effect.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time by FILL IN: how to cancel, for example writing to the support email. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or isn't paid. While an account is suspended, the owner can still sign in to download the shop's data.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, MapleFix is provided as it is, and our total liability for any claim about it is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data that a reasonable backup by you would have saved. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of Ontario.
