Made for the bay, not the office
Mechanics shouldn't have to walk to the front counter to look up a job or write up what they found. The MapleFix app puts the job, the inspection and the camera in their hand, right beside the car.
What mechanics do on the phone
A mechanic's phone opens on My jobs: their open jobs, with Start and Stop for the job clock. From there they can:
- work through the digital inspection with photos and videos of up to 30 seconds
- check a car in with walk-around photos and the customer's signature
- scan a VIN, a plate, a part barcode or a tire tag
- look up customers, cars, parts, tires and service reminders
- make estimates and invoices and record a payment
The + button starts a new job, a check-up (inspection only), a VIN or plate scan, an estimate, an invoice or a new customer.

One phone, many people
Sign the phone in once with an email and password. After that, each person unlocks it with their own PIN of 4 to 8 digits, so a shared shop phone always knows who's using it and what they're allowed to see. "Switch person" hands it over, and the app locks itself after 10 minutes without use. Mechanics never see costs, profit, payroll or the books.
What owners get on the phone
Owners open on Home, with the shop's numbers, and also get reports, the GST/HST return, accounting, the year-end checklist, staff and settings. Running payroll, importing bank statements and editing equipment stay on the computer, where there's room to check the numbers.
Getting the app
The Android app downloads straight from MapleFix as an APK file. The first time, your phone asks you to allow installs from your browser; the app needs a MapleFix account to do anything. The iPhone app is coming soon.
