Every car, at a glance
Each job moves through the same steps: Open, In progress, Waiting for customer OK, Customer said OK, Waiting for parts, Finished and Ready for pickup (or Cancelled). The dashboard's "In the shop" card counts the cars at each step, and the job list has tabs for active jobs, jobs waiting for parts, finished jobs and cars ready to go home. Search by job number, customer, car, plate or what's being done.
A check-in that protects the shop
Check-in takes four short steps on the phone or the computer:
- The car: odometer, fuel level, key tag and any valuables left inside.
- Walk-around photos: front, rear, both sides and close-ups, with notes on any damage.
- What's wrong, what the customer agrees to, and how they like to be reached (text, call, email or WhatsApp).
- The customer's signature, drawn on the screen.
The customer chooses how far you can go: go ahead up to an amount plus HST, estimate first with no work until they say yes, or diagnosis only. The printed terms refer to Ontario's Consumer Protection Act and the Repair and Storage Liens Act, and you can change the wording. Mechanics see their own jobs
Give each job to a mechanic. On the phone app, My jobs shows each mechanic their open jobs with Start and Stop, and time is logged per person, in minutes. Finishing a job, marking it ready or cancelling it clocks everyone off it.
Keep the customer in the loop
Ready-made messages for "ready for pickup", "being worked on", "estimate ready" and "service due" fill in the customer's name, the car, your shop and the amount. Send them by text or WhatsApp from the phone, call, or email from your shop's own address. You can rewrite every message in your own words.
Know what each job made
Owners see a profit card on every job: revenue before HST, less the parts cost, the labour cost (clocked hours at each person's rate) and any other costs. The "Profit by job" report adds them up and exports to a spreadsheet. Mechanics never see costs or profit.
One step to the invoice
When the work is done, turn the job into a draft invoice: the lines and photos come with it. Jobs are numbered WO-2026-0001 and so on by default, starting again each year, and you can change the format.
